Instead, you do intentional, personalized workouts with a focus on strength training.
Not only does your body feel better. But you finally have the confidence you always wanted.
I don’t even want to talk about how many YEARS I wasted spending HOURS doing a ton of cardio, because I thought that would get me the body I wanted. I tried so many different cardio workouts, hoping to burn as MANY calories as possible, becuase that’s the goal, right???
I did HIIT workouts, group class workouts, running, circuit training, and spent hours on different cardio machines. I didn’t want to “waste” time on strength training, because I knew it didn’t burn as many calories. And I didn’t have that kind of time to waste (because I spent all of it doing different cardio workouts).
Even if I did lose some weight on those workouts, I never felt like I had the “toned” look I wanted. I always felt like I had more weight to lose. And I was afraid I knew I would have to keep adding MORE cardio, or more miles, to keep the weight off. There was only so much time in the day, and I was already spending hours on cardio. So doing more felt impossible.
If I could go back and tell the younger Me what I know now, I would have saved myself YEARS of feeling like I’m on a hamster wheel.
When I started easing up on the cardio, and making more time for strength training, my body started transforming!
My workouts become enjoyable, sustainable, and I no longer felt like I had to clock a certain amount of miles to maintain my results.
Not only did I feel strong and confident in my body. I also felt at ease that I wasn’t going to just “gain all the weight back”, or go back to my old body, like I had in the past.
Maintaining my results became EASY, for the first time in over 10 years.
I no longer worry about gaining the weight back, or losing my results. It’s not something I have to think about consciously. It’s just a result of how I’ve designed my training and nutrition plans.
Now, I will say, the results didn’t happen overnight. It took me YEARS to really figure out how to properly implement strength training to get the results I wanted. There was a lot of trial and error. But I actually *enjoyed* the process of figuring it out.
Building muscle takes time, but the results are sustainable and they LAST.
100% worth it!
