I spent so many years in a yo-yo diet struggle.

I would do really well for a few weeks, and then it seemed like a switch flipped. I was hungry, cranky, craving everything, and just couldn’t keep it up anymore. One brunch out with friends would turn into an entire weekend of binging on as much food as I could get. (The more quick and processed it was, the more I wanted it.)
Have you ever felt like this?
I got so tired of feeling STUCK in this cycle.
Here’s what I did to finally stop losing and gaining the same 10 to 20 pounds, over and over again.⤵
1️⃣ Incorporated strength training 3 to 5 times per week.💪
• for years I tried to use cardio to “burn off” as much weight as possible. I would spend hours on the treadmill throughout the week. It seemed to work for a while, but it was exhausting. And at one point my weight stopped budging. And I started getting frustrated. Incorporating strength training is when I started seeing results that LAST.
2️⃣ Incorporated my favorite foods while I was trying to lose weight.💫
• I used to “swear off” my favorite foods. I decided that they were the reason I was binging and gaining weight. When, in actuality, cutting them out was the problem. Restricting my favorite foods made me crave then EVEN MORE. and as soon as I reached my “goal weight”, it was as if I couldn’t get enough of these foods. My cravings were so intense. But when I *allowed* these foods into my weight loss strategy, it took away their power. They were no longer as tempting. And I learned how to include them in a healthy diet, without going overboard.
3️⃣ Not giving up when the scale fluctuated. ✨️
• it can be so FRUSTRATING when you are working SO HARD to lose weight. And the scale doesn’t budge. Or even worse, the scale goes up. Especially when you are trying hard to make the best food choices, and spending extra time at the gym. It’s so important to realize scale fluctuations are a NORMAL part of the process, and to not give up when they do happen. Having patience here, and DECIDING you won’t give up, will help carry you to your goal. If I gave up every time the scale fluctuated, I would never have made it to a place where I feel confident in my body.
